The Death Penalty, Is it Good Or Bad?

I am and always have been the pro death penalty, however, even though I am pro death penalty, I probably would not be willing to pull the switch or push the button. I do not think that this makes me a hypocrit. Please bear with me while I explain.
As I stated, I am pro death penalty. I am not, however, pro death penalty as an act of revenge or retribution. I believe that in certain instances it does act as a deterrent to crime and can save lives. I realize that some people have no respect for life, not even their own, and would commit violent acts no matter what the penalty. I also realize that some people get caught up in the heat of passion and don’t think about the consequences of their actions. There are people, however, that do care about themselves even if they don’t care about others and the only thing that stops them from commiting certain crimes is the idea that they might, if caught, be executed. They may not have a conscience, they may not care about the harm they do others, they may not believe in or care about an afterlife but, they do care about their own skin and they want to protect themselves from harm. Many of these people don’t care if they go to prison but they do want to live. Many of them while in prison would murder other prisoners or guards but don’t because they don’t want to turn their life sentence into a death sentence. If the death penalty saves even one or two innocent lives, I believe that it is worth having.

“Drink Driving - Maximum Penalty - Death - Kill Or Be Killed” By kacycarr

Drink Driving - People who under the influence of alcohol believe that they can control or handle a vehicle while inebriated are taking a big risk. Think about it, there are just as many automobile accidents with sober drivers, so what chance has a drunken dimwit got while intoxicated. Leave the car keys at home if you are going out for a couple pints. You will enjoy the evening better - not having to worry about taking chances. Risks are normally taken by the drunkard - purely because they are afraid to leave their car behind in the pub car park - fearing it may be stolen or vandalised. A good idea is to leave it in the garage. Drink driving - not a match made in heaven and believe it or not - this is where many an innocent pedestrian or driver has ended up (Heaven)

Debate Over Capital Punishment — A Pro Stance

Justice can not be served until the debate on capital punishment is resolved and all states have come to agree that the death penalty is the best way to stop crime completely.

“The bottom line is, one method of execution is just as brutal and as barbaric as the next,” says Mr. Breedlove of the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty. This comes straight from the mouth of a member of a national organization against capital punishment. The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, Third Edition defines execution as The act or an instance of putting to death or being put to death as a lawful penalty. So if Breedlove’s words hold true, then what he believes is that someone going out and killing someone is barbaric. In a sense isn’t that what he’s saying, that one way of killing someone is just as bad as any other. So if he finds this so barbaric, why doesn’t he do something about it?
